ARCHITECTURE

The following individuals have joined Sherman-Carter-Barnhart Architects' Lexington office:

Tom Smith has joined the firm's construction administration division as a construction administration manager.

James Lucero has joined the company's healthcare division as production manager.

COMMUNICATIONS

Libby Kinstle has joined Buzzword, Inc. as an account executive. Buzzword is a Kentucky-based digital design and interactive communications company.

Tom Cheek

Manus, Inc. has named Gayle Sherrod as chief executive officer and Tom Cheek as president of the Lexington-based construction management firm.

Link-Belt Construction Equipment Company has named Thomas (Mickey) Hammers as product specialist - lattice cranes in the marketing and sales department, where he will be responsible for new product development and identification of new markets. Bruce Kabalen has been named as sales promotion specialist within the marketing communications department of the company and will have responsibility for the development and maintenance of sales literature.

CONSULTING

Dean Nelson has been named area sales manager of the Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska and Minnesota region for Profit Management Consulting, Inc., a Lexington-based business consulting firm.

EDUCATION

L. Randy Mills, currently senior associate director of undergraduate admissions at the University of Kentucky, has been named College Placement Counselor at Sayre School, effective for the 1998-99 school year.

FINANCIAL

Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc., a Memphis-based investment company, has promoted Frank Gettler to vice president and named Tom Springate to the position of associate vice president. Both are investment brokers in the firm's Lexington office.

INSURANCE

Marcy Deaton Ches has joined Kentucky Employers' Mutual Insurance (KEMI) as legal counsel.

LAW

Justin R. Morgan and Melissa G. Cain have joined the Lexington office of Andrews and Associates as associate attorneys.

PERSONNEL

Wade Mitchell has been appointed as technical recruiter for the Central Kentucky Manpower Technical office.

TECHNOLOGY

Jack McKinney has been promoted to consulting practice manager for Software Information Systems. In addition, the company has hired Ed Cupolo as vice president of sales and marketing, Jeff Propps as manager of network products group, and Jennifer Smith as corporate marketing strategist.

Micro Computer Solutions, Inc. has named the following individuals to position within the company: Karen Koehn, administrative assistant; Richard Maines, technician-contract services; Bryian Ramsey, technician technical services; and Stephanie Shouse, technician-contract services

Portman Equipment Company, a materials handling distributor, has promoted Darrell J. Curtis to general manager of the Lexington office. Rocky Hurt has been named facility manager of the company's new Georgetown rental center.

Speedway SuperAmerica LLC has promoted Jim Riggs to area manager in Lexington, where he is responsible for nine stores. Riggs was previously training store manager in Lexington.

Jeff Koch has been named manager of Motion Industries' Lexington branch. Motion Industries is a distributor of bearings, hose products, and mechanical, electrical and fluid power transmission equipment.
