LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 8, 2018) — U.S. Equestrian Federation will break ground on its new 35,000-s.f. office building on Friday, May 11 at the Kentucky Horse Park.
The Kentucky Horse Park Commission and U.S. Equestrian entered into a 40-year ground lease agreement on three acres of land last summer, which includes the grant of an option to extend the lease for an additional 40 years at the conclusion of the initial term. The new, two-story headquarters will replace the office space U.S. Equestrian currently leases at the Kentucky Horse Park from the USA Equestrian Trust, Inc., which expires at the end of 2019.
The new building, designed by integrity/Architecture and constructed by D.W. Wilburn, will house approximately 140 employees. It is expected to generate cost savings to U.S. Equestrian, which will be used to enhance and develop its programs and initiatives for over 100,000 members.
In addition, the new headquarters will remain in close proximity to many U.S. Equestrian affiliates and licensed competitions. As the national governing body of equestrian sport, U.S. Equestrian has entered into an agreement with the U.S. Olympic Committee to display the Olympic rings. They will be located near the main entrance to the Kentucky Horse Park on Iron Works Parkway.
The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019.
