Community Trust Wealth promotes Schmitt to senior VP

Community Trust Wealth & Trust Management has announced that Kirk Schmitt has been promoted to senior VP of investments. Schmitt is responsible for managing the equity team and process.

Schmitt has been with WTM since 2014 and is a key contributor to the company’s success, the company said in a press release.

Schmitt joined CTIC’s Wealth and Trust Management team in 2014. As senior VP, senior equity manager and strategist, he is responsible for analyzing individual common stocks, mutual funds and fixed income securities in order to support and manage the investment process for CTIC.

Schmitt has been in the investment industry for 26 years. Prior to joining WTM, he was a co-portfolio manager of Victory Special Fund for Victory Capital Management, a subsidiary for Key Bank in Cleveland, Ohio.

Schmitt graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor’s of science in business administration (B.S.B.A.) in finance. He earned his MBA at Virginia Commonwealth University with a concentration in finance. In 2004, Schmitt earned his designation as a chartered financial analyst. Schmitt recently received a certificate from the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association for the Fundamentals of Alternative Investments.
