LEXINGTON, Ky. — The League of Women Voters of Lexington elected officers and directors for the 2018-19 year at its annual meeting April 14.
The following members were elected to lead the group for the 2018-19 year: 2nd Vice President, Donna Blue; Secretary, Richard Heine; Treasurer, Barbara Sterrett; Directors, Liz Holland, Mary Hughes, Jennifer Jackson, Lauren Wallace, Barb Welch, and Laura Zimmerman.
Appointed directors include Diana Clewett, Cindy Heine, Judy Johnson, and Carole O’Reilly. President Tammy Fagley is serving the second year of two-year term. The first vice president position is vacant.
Allyson Cox Taylor, executive director, Office of Child Abuse and Human Trafficking Prevention and Prosecution, Office of the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, spoke on “The State of Child Trafficking in Kentucky.”
The league is an activist nonpartisan organization of women and men that encourages citizen involvement in government through voter registration, lectures, candidate forums and programs, all of which are free.
