Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 14, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Audria Gail Denker, Ollie Faye Bowling, Jessica Lynn Wilson, and James T. Isenberg have been appointed as members of the Board of Nursing. 

  • Dr. Audria Gail Denker, of Louisville, is a registered nurse. She will represent registered nurses from the Kentucky Nurses Association and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2022
  • Ollie Faye Bowling, of Louisville, is a licensed practical nurse. She will represent the Kentucky Licensed Practical Nurses Organization and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2022
  • Dr. Jessica Lynn Wilson, of Nicholasville, is a nurse practitioner. She will represent registered nurse educators from the Kentucky Nurses Association and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2022
  • Dr. James T. Isenberg, of Glasgow, is a nursing educator. He will represent practical nurse educators from the Kentucky Licensed Practical Nurses Organization and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2022

The Board of Nursing is comprised of 16 gubernatorial appointees. The Board approves programs of nursing, and regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of nurses within the Commonwealth.

Judith Piazza has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners.

  • Judith Piazza, of Lexington, is the executive director of intergovernmental affairs for the Finance and Administration Cabinet and is active in retired greyhound adoption. She will serve for a term expiring April 1, 2021.

The Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners has eight members, all appointed by the Governor. The Board regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of veterinarians within the Commonwealth.

James O. “Hap” Strunk has been appointed as a member of the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. 

  • James O. “Hap” Strunk, of Stearns, is a funeral director. He will represent the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky and serve for a term expiring May 31, 2022.

The State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors adopts standards and regulations that govern the funeral industry to assure public safety.

Christopher Mattingly, M. Susanne Fallahzadeh, Geoffrey Ball, and Donna Ruley have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Board of Dentistry.

  • Dr. Christopher Mattingly, of Louisville, is an orthodontist. He will represent licensed dentists and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2021; and
  • Dr. M. Susanne Fallahzadeh, of Lexington, is a dentist. She will represent licensed dentists and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2022; and
  • Dr. Geoffrey Ball, of Elizabethtown, is a dentist. He will represent licensed dentists and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2022; and
  • Donna Ruley, of Louisville, is a dental hygienist. She will represent licensed dental hygienists and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2022.

The Kentucky Board of Dentistry regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of dentists within the Commonwealth.
