BARDSTOWN, Ky. — Hardin Memorial Health officials, physicians and community leaders from Nelson and surrounding counties celebrated the opening of HMH’s Bardstown Medical Plaza, located at 3615 East John Rowan Boulevard, on Thursday.

The 70,000 s.f. state-of-the-art facility is the new home for the busy, successful primary care practice, HMH’s Bardstown Family Medical Center.

Providing a strong continuum of care along with convenience, Bardstown Medical Plaza also provides a single location for HMH services including lab, therapy services, an onsite radiologist and diagnostics including 3D mammography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Additionally, medical specialties available for patients include cardiology, foot and ankle care, sports medicine, orthopedics, pulmonology and critical care, urology, general and vascular surgery as well as ear, nose and throat. Patients can also receive physical therapy onsite.

The growth of the Nelson County area, of Bardstown Diagnostics and at Bardstown Family Medical precipitated the plaza’s construction. The practice, caring for people from Nelson and surrounding counties for more than six decades, experienced a 29 percent patient increase in the past four years.

“Bardstown Family Medical Center simply outgrew their space,” said HMH Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Tom Carrico. “Now these beloved providers and their patients have the new facility they deserve, along with 12 services and specialties all under one roof. The location on John Rowan Boulevard makes access easy for people in Marion, Washington and surrounding counties as well.”

At the ribbon cutting, the providers at Bardstown Family Medical Center expressed their excitement with the new space.

“We now have 48 exam and procedure rooms which allows us to see more patients and do so in a comfortable setting,” said Dr. Matthew Stiles. “We want to provide the best patient experience possible and this space helps do that.”

“HMH is proud to serve this wonderful community,” said Dennis Johnson, HMH president and CEO. “There are even more benefits coming we can provide patients including occupational and speech therapy, behavioral health care and a drive-through pharmacy.”

HMH partnered with Medcraft Healthcare Real Estate, a national leader in the development and management of ambulatory care and medical office buildings, to develop the project. With a sole focus of healthcare, Medcraft has completed more than 80 projects in its 30-plus-year history.
