Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 31, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Shane Doyle and Sherry Walters have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.

  • Shane Doyle, of Smiths Grove, is a sheriff. He will represent sheriffs and serve for a term expiring July 1, 2022; and
  • Sherry Walters, of Hebron, is retired. She will represent citizens and serve for a term expiring July 1, 2022.

The Kentucky Law Enforcement Council is a 20-member body, 12 of whom are appointed by the Governor. The Council governs training for all of the state’s law enforcement. It looks for ways to increase the quality of law enforcement by improving the curriculum used to train law enforcement officials and monitoring the abilities of the instructors who teach the required curriculum.

Scott Blythe Kirkpatrick and David Wayne Pedigo have been appointed as members of the Center for Pollution Prevention Board of Directors.  

  • Scott Blythe Kirkpatrick, of Paducah, is the site manager for Verso Corporation. He will represent environmental engineers and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2021; and 
  • David Wayne Pedigo, of Elizabethtown, is an environmental engineer. He will represent members at large and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2021.  

The Center for Pollution Prevention Board of Directors consists of ten members, seven which are appointed by the governor, is charged with governing the Center for Pollution Prevention.

Donald Miniard has been appointed as a member of the Forestry Best Management Practices Board.  

  • Donald Miniard, of Bledsoe, is retired. He will represent the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation and serve for a term expiring April 22, 2022.  

The Forestry Best Management Practices Board was established in 1998 for the purpose of updating Kentucky’s forest practice guidelines for water quality management and the Division of Forestry’s administrative regulations regarding timber harvesting operations.

William C. Haugh, Timothy G. Price and Adrienne Shelby Bryant have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services.  

  • William C. Haugh, of Georgetown, is the CEO of Georgetown Community Hospital. He will represent hospital administrators and serve for a term expiring Sept. 19, 2020; and 
  • Dr. Timothy G. Price, of Fisherville, is a physician. He will represent physicians licensed in Kentucky serving as a medical director of an advanced life support ambulance service and serve for a term expiring Sept. 19, 2020; and 
  • Adrienne Shelby Bryant, of Sandgap, is an EMT-B for Jackson Co. EMS. She will represent medical technician-basic and serve for a term expiring Sept. 19, 2020.  

The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services is charged with regulating EMS licenses and ensuring all licensed and certified EMS workers in Kentucky practice within the state’s code of conduct for emergency services. 

Keith Wellington Myrik has been appointed as a member of the State Board of Podiatry. 

  • Keith Wellington Myrik, of Louisville, is a physician. He will serve for a term expiring Aug. 22, 2022. 

The State Board of Podiatry is made up of five gubernatorial appointees. The board regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of podiatrists within Kentucky.

Michael Leathers Keck has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission. 

  • Michael Leathers Keck, of Science Hill, is the Vice President of Five Talents Financial Group. He will represent sports marketing or promotion and serve for a term expiring May 16, 2019. 

The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission oversees all professional boxing, wrestling and full contact competitive bouts and exhibitions held in Kentucky. The KBWC licenses contestants, officials and promoters, and is attached to the Public Protection Cabinet for administrative purposes.
