Allegiant Air announces new nonstop service to New Orleans

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Allegiant Air on Tuesday announced new seasonal nonstop service between Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) beginning Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 through Sunday, May 5. Nonstop flights to New Orleans will be offered twice weekly on Sundays and Thursdays. The airline will operate the flight using 180-seat Airbus A320.

“We’re thrilled to see Allegiant adding New Orleans to our growing list of nonstop flights,” said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. “This is just another indication of our city’s momentum.”

With this announcement, Allegiant Air will offer as many as 25 weekly departures to ten destinations from Louisville including Orlando Sanford, St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Fort Lauderdale, Punta Gorda, Myrtle Beach, Savannah, Jacksonville, Fort Walton Beach and Las Vegas. “The addition of New Orleans marks Allegiant’s tenth destination from Louisville International Airport,” said Dan Mann, executive director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “We couldn’t be happier to welcome this route connecting the bourbon capital of the world to Bourbon Street.”

Louisville International Airport is served by six airlines offering flights to 32 nonstop destinations including 19 of the region’s top 20 domestic markets. With just one stop, travelers from across the region can reach 170 international destinations in 81 countries on six continents.
