Lawmakers and political commentators to preview 2019 session at Ky. Chamber conference

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is set to bring experts together Dec. 3 in Lexington to discuss what Kentuckians can expect from the upcoming legislative session at the 2019 Legislative Preview Conference.

The 2019 Kentucky Legislative Preview is a one-day gathering of the most prominent and influential policymakers and political commentators in Kentucky who will discuss their plans, priorities and predictions for the 2019 Kentucky General Assembly.

Leaders of the state House and Senate including Acting House Speaker David Osborne, Senate President Robert Stivers, Senate Majority Floor Leader Damon Thayer and House Majority Caucus Chair David Meade will close out the day-long event with a panel discussing 2018 election results and what they mean for the upcoming legislative session as well as what they expect as the biggest issues of 2019.

Matt Jones, host of Kentucky Sports Radio and Hey Kentucky, Scott Jennings, co-founder of RunSwitch PR and CNN contributor, will also serve on a panel with moderator Jacqueline Pitts, communications director for the Kentucky Chamber, to discuss the election predictions they made in July 2018 at the Chamber’s Business Summit, give their analysis of the results and talk about the future of Kentucky politics.

The annual event will take place on Monday, Dec. 3 at the Griffin Gate Marriott Resort in Lexington and will cover topics including emerging competitiveness issues, infrastructure investment, criminal justice and the opioid epidemic, education and workforce, and much more.  Find out more about the Legislative Preview Conference here.
