UK’s Von Allmen Center Bootcamp finals are Thursday. Nov. 29

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky’s Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship, part of the Gatton College of Business and Economics, is set to host the finals of their annual Bootcamp Project competition this Thursday, Nov. 29, in the UK Venture Studio Room 124 located inside Gatton College.

Teams of students will be pitching to a panel of Kentucky Angel Investors and business leaders for more than $3,000 in funding. Prize money from the competition will aid in taking the team’s ideas, new products and services out into the market. Entrepreneurs will be allotted seven minutes to present their business ideas to the investors in a style similar to the hit ABC television program, “Shark Tank.”

The startup companies encompass a wide breadth of innovative products and technologies ranging from cryptocurrency, food accessibility programming, fitness/lifestyle clothing, predictive health software and outdoor advertising on turf grass.

The event finals are open to the public with the team pitches taking place between 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a lunch break from nooon to 1:30 p.m. The pitch results and award winners will be announced 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Woodward Hall located inside Gatton College.
