LOUISVILLE, Ky. — GE Appliances, a Haier company, named John Boyd vice president of contract sales and Jim Skaggs vice president of retail sales — both newly expanded commercial leadership roles to enhance the business’ ability to compete and win in the marketplace.

In addition to added leadership responsibilities, both will become part of the commercial staff under Chief Commercial Officer Rick Hasselbeck and members of the Executive Council leadership team. Both will also continue to report directly to Vice President of Sales Robert Rogers.

“These promotions are part of GE Appliances’ growth plans to become the leading major appliance company in the U.S.,” said Hasselbeck. “As we grow, supporting our customers by being the easiest appliance company with whom to do business is critical to our success. Elevating John’s and Jim’s roles gives us better visibility into customer needs, which is critical to our overall strategy.”

Boyd and Skaggs have close to 50 years of combined industry experience and a proven history of delivering for GEA’s customers.

Boyd has 23 years of GEA experience in roles of increasing leadership scope, including region manager and commercial director. Since 2014, Boyd has doubled the size of GEA’s contract business. He is a data-driven leader with deep relationships and is well respected by customers. Boyd holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Kentucky and a master of business administration from Old Dominion University.

Skaggs has more than 24 years of experience in the industry and has held significant commercial leadership roles within GEA prior to assuming his current role, including region manager, commercial director and general manager – buying groups and independents. In his previous position, Skaggs set a strong vision for the retail channel and helped GEA drive impressive double-digit growth across a broad group of customers. Skaggs holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Arizona.
