Sturgill Turner promotes former Kentucky State police officer to member of firm

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Sturgill, Turner, Barker & Moloney, PLLC has announced that L. Scott Miller has been promoted to member of the firm.

Miller’s litigation practice focuses on defending police departments and police officers against claims of excessive use of force, malicious prosecution, unlawful search and seizure, and other federal civil rights actions. He also provides expert review of police policies and makes recommendations for best practices.

Before joining Sturgill Turner, Miller worked his way up the ranks with the Kentucky State Police, starting out as a trooper and eventually reaching the rank of Lt. Colonel and serving as executive adviser to the Commissioner.

Scott is a member of the Kentucky, Tennessee and Fayette County Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute, and is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Kentucky.
