McBrayer adds attorney specializing in taxation to Lexington office

Kenton L. Ball

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Attorney Kenton L. Ball has joined the McBrayer law firm at the company’s Lexington office. Ball’s main practice area is taxation and covers the full range of related subjects from income taxation to real property taxation, employment/payroll tax to estate taxation and beyond.

Ball has litigated tax matters before the US Tax Court, the Kentucky Claims Commission (formerly the Kentucky Board of Tax Appeals), and local boards of assessment appeals. He is a former attorney manager with the Division of Legal Services of the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet (1991-1998) and subsequently headed the tax department of a large CPA firm’s Lexington office. He also holds an LL.M. in Taxation.

“Taxation is an area that impacts our clients’ businesses and personal lives, so adding Kenton’s proficiency in all areas of tax law means we can serve them at a higher level,” says Managing Member James Frazier, III. “Kenton’s litigation experience on various sides of tax compliance and controversy makes his approach invaluable.”

Ball served for eight years as a board member of the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center and is a former president and current board member with the Lexington Fayette Parking Authority.  He has served since 1992 on various committees at Christ Church Cathedral, including Vestry (Board of Directors), and is currently assistant to the Chancellor for the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington.
