LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky American Water has announced the appointment of Elaine Chambers as director, rates and regulatory for American Water’s Southeast Division, including Kentucky and Tennessee American Water.
Chambers will report to Nick Rowe, senior vice president of American Water Southeast Division and president of Kentucky American Water. In this position, Chambers will lead the preparation and filing of rate applications for Kentucky and Tennessee American Water as well as develop budgets and long-term financial models.
Chambers, a native of Indiana has over 24 years of experience in financial leadership roles across various industries, including utilities. Prior to joining American Water, Chambers served as rates and regulations senior manager for Indianapolis Power and Light where she led multi-state teams through regulatory filings in both regulated and deregulated jurisdictions. She has also held roles with Exelon Corporation, Black & Veatch, Miso Energy and Andersen, where she was heavily involved in managing auditing and compliance activities and establishing internal controls.
Chambers holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Indianapolis and is a certified public accountant. Chambers will reside in Lexington.
