Gov. Bevin appoints magistrate for Lyon County

Quin Tyler Sutton

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Matt Bevin today appointed Quin Tyler Sutton, of Eddyville, as magistrate for the Second District of Lyon County. Sutton’s appointment fills the vacancy left by the resignation of former Second District Magistrate Danny Walker.

A 20-year educator, Sutton served as an athletic director, assistant principal, FFA advisor, and boys basketball coach, before retiring in 2017 as the Superintendent of McCracken County Schools. He and his wife, Amye, live in Eddyville and have three children and one grandchild.

Sutton holds a B.S. in Agriculture and an M.S. from Murray State University.

“I would like to thank Governor Bevin for appointing me as magistrate and giving me the opportunity to serve the citizens of Lyon County,” said Sutton. “Lyon County is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. I look forward to working with all members of the community and other fiscal court members as we try and improve our county.”

This appointment will take effect April 12, 2019. Sutton will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2019 general election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
