University of the Cumberlands promotes new VP of Finance, CFO

Quentin Young

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — University of the Cumberlands has promoted Quentin Young as the University’s new vice president of Finance and chief financial officer.

“We at the University feel that Quentin’s prior experience in finance, accounting, banking, taxation and investments have prepared him well to serve in this role,” said Dr. Larry Cockrum, president of the University. “We believe that, under his leadership, the financial offices at Cumberlands will continue to model sound stewardship and financial success.”

Young graduated from Cumberlands with an accounting degree in 2011 and has since completed two master’s degrees in business administration and information systems security. He maintains an active license as a CPA in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Upon graduation, Young was employed with Forcht Group of Kentucky, where he worked with an array of businesses and industries. He arrived on campus in 2016 as the Director of Business Services and has progressively become more involved in all financial matters of the University.

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve my alma mater in this fashion,” said Young. “I am very excited about the future of Cumberlands and the positive impact it will have on the lives of its current and future students.”
