Houchens Industries opens Crossroads IGA in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Houchens Industries, headquartered in Bowling Green, Kentucky, opened the first Crossroads IGA in the Lexington area on Wednesday, April 24 at 2656 Abigail Way off of Leestown Road. Crossroads IGA is a unique neighborhood market grocery store offering fresh produce, quality meats, freshly prepared meals, and an extensive selection of essential grocery items.

By design, Crossroads IGA is smaller than a traditional grocery store to help customers get in and out
fast.

“Crossroads IGA meets the needs of today’s busy consumer,” said Jeff Grinstead, regional manager for Houchens Industries. “Crossroads saves customers time while providing a pleasant shopping experience, plus offers value and product selection equivalent to a conventional grocery store. It is the quintessential convenient way for customers to keep their pantries stocked and to pick up freshly prepared meals on-the-go.”

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches is also located inside the new Crossroads IGA. Which Wich is known
for its great variety of toppings and fun approach to filling out sandwich orders, where guests get to mark up the pre-printed menus on sandwich bags with red sharpies. The wide-varied menu also includes breakfast and salad options along with malts, shakes, cookies and cakes.

“It’s a very exciting time for the Crossroads IGA brand. The reaction we’ve received so far from the area has been overwhelmingly positive.” said Bernie Koetter, division manager for Houchens Industries.

The new Lexington Crossroads IGA had a record Grand Opening day for the company. Crossroads IGA is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
