Lexington City Center Hotels hire director of food and beverage

Ricky Carpentieri

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington Marriott City Center Hotels have announced that Ricky Carpentieri has been named director of food and beverage at the Lexington Marriott City Center and Residence Inn Lexington City Center. Carpentieri will provide leadership and oversee the operation of the hotels’ diverse food and beverage outlets.

“Ricky’s passion for excellence and his ability to lead has been widely recognized by many throughout his hospitality tenure,” said Barry Kuhnke, general manager. “With his vision, I can’t wait to see the culinary and beverage innovations that are created.”

Carpentieri grew up in rural Hagerstown, Maryland, where he started his hospitality career in restaurants as a host, staying in hospitality for over 15 years.  He advanced through several food and beverage roles and quickly jumped into management while studying Hospitality & Tourism Management at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.  Ricky has worked across the country in several food and beverage leadership positions and has been under the Marriott umbrella of brands for 6 years.

Carpentieri’s most recent role was in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he helped with the Red Domino Project.  This project reinvented the Marriott full-service brand into what you are seeing today.  He was recognized by the hotel and by Marriott as an “Emerging Leader” for the company due to the success within his departments and in the hotel.

“This is such an exciting time for Lexington and the surrounding areas to see this project come to life, and I am thrilled to be part of that journey,” said Carpentieri. “The people of Lexington have been amazing over the last few weeks with welcoming me into their ‘home,’ and I can’t wait to return the favor when we open our doors to these remarkable hotels.  I look forward to hosting everyone soon!”
