KCTCS and SNHU sign transfer agreement

VERSAILLES, Ky. — The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) recently signed a transfer agreement allowing KCTCS students to seamlessly transfer credits to SNHU.

“We are so pleased to offer our students this new transfer option,” said KCTCS Chancellor Kris Williams. “This agreement enhances our students’ opportunities by providing another direct avenue to earning a bachelor’s degree. This is extremely important to our students whose busy lives prevent them from attending traditional classes at a university.”

As SNHU is an accredited institution via the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), all academic coursework in which students earn a grade of “C-“ or higher is fully transferable based on course equivalents. SNHU will accept up to 90 transfer credits from KCTCS toward a bachelor’s degree.

Through the agreement, eligible KCTCS graduates, employees and immediate family members of employees (spouse, domestic partners, children, siblings, and parents) will receive a 10 percent tuition reduction for SNHU’s online programs. Additionally, the SNHU application fee will be waived.

“At SNHU, we want to simplify the process for community college graduates to transfer their credits to a bachelor’s degree program,” said Susan Bogle, associate vice president of Product Marketing and Academic Alliances, SNHU. “Partnerships, like this one with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, make it easy by creating a direct pathway from an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree. We are always eager to work with community colleges that are looking to help students find ways to continue their education. This is an opportunity for our institutions to bring our resources together and deliver on our shared commitment of student success.”
