Target to hire team members for new small-format Lexington store

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Target will celebrate the grand opening of its Lexington small-format store this summer, and is now beginning to hire 70 team members to help deliver a great shopping experience for guests.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply at Target.com/careers ahead of job fairs held May 20-24 at the Lexington Southeast Target store. Store leaders will conduct interviews with applicants and discuss Target’s dynamic, team-oriented culture.

“At Target, our team brings an easy and convenient shopping experience to life – and we’re building a talented team of 70 new members who will help us serve the residents and students in the Lexington area. We look forward to meeting the needs of the neighborhood, while also providing our team meaningful opportunities to build and develop skills for their careers,” said Crystal Stone, Target store director.

In addition to market competitive wages, Target also offers various education benefits, such as tuition and GED reimbursement, to support team members’ continuous learning as they build skills for a lifetime. This investment in the team will allow Target to continue to recruit and retain strong team members and provide an elevated experience for its guests and in the communities it serves.

The Lexington store, located at 500 South Upper Street in the Hub on Campus Lexington, marks Target’s first small-format store in the state of Kentucky. Nationwide, Target has prioritized opening small-format stores to serve guests near college campuses and in urban areas, dense suburban neighborhoods – areas where a full-size Target typically wouldn’t fit. This new store will offer a curated assortment of food and beverage items, personal care and beauty products, home décor including dorm and apartment essentials, and men’s and women’s apparel and accessories.
