Kentucky American Water names vice president of operations

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky American Water has announced the appointment of David Farrar as vice president of operations. Farrar will report to Nick Rowe, president of Kentucky American Water and senior vice president of American Water’s Southeast Division.

In this position, Farrar will lead the field operations, water quality, safety and customer advocacy functions in all districts while driving a culture of safety, high performance, exceptional customer service, and growth.

Farrar, a native of Fisher, Ill., joined Illinois American Water in 2008 as a water treatment plant operator. He served as a treatment plant mechanic, a supervisor in production and field operations and, most recently, as senior operations manager for Illinois American Water’s Champaign District.

Farrar holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Eastern Illinois University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana, and class A water operator and class 3 wastewater operator licenses in Illinois. Farrar served on the Champaign Economic Development Corporation board of directors, the Mahomet Aquifer Consortium board and the Illinois State Water Survey advisory board.

Farrar and his wife, Tracey, have two grown children and two grandchildren and will reside in Lexington.
