Norton Healthcare

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Becker’s Healthcare, a leading national health care publication, has named Norton Healthcare to its list of 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare 2019. Norton Healthcare is the only health care provider in Kentucky to be named to the list.

To be selected for this list, an organization must have a culture that promotes diversity, engagement and professional growth in addition to offering “above and beyond” opportunities to build successful careers. Other criteria include wellness and benefits programs as well as volunteer and community outreach opportunities.

Norton Healthcare’s more than 15,000 employees have access to lifelong learning opportunities. Employees in every role have access to a variety of training programs to help them advance their careers. Employee resource groups within the not-for-profit organization give employees the opportunity to engage with others while expanding their knowledge base. Norton Healthcare’s involvement in the community provides many volunteer opportunities for employees. A competitive benefits program offers parental leave, wellness initiatives and other benefits.

“Our mission, vision and values drive everything we do at Norton Healthcare,” said Gladys Lopez, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “We know that in order to provide high-quality patient care, we must have engaged employees who come to work ready to do their best.”

In 2018, Forbes honored Norton Healthcare as No. 67 of 300 companies recognized nationwide as Best Employers for Women and as No. 95 of 500 large companies on its America’s Best Employers list. The system also is No. 11 on the 2018 Computerworld Best Places to Work in IT list and the Healthiest Employers’ fourth healthiest place to work in the country. In 2018, Norton Healthcare was named an LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
