FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Larry D. Brown has been appointed as a member of the Big Sandy Community and Technical College Nominating Commission.
- Larry D. Brown, of Prestonsburg, is an attorney. He will serve for a term expiring April 15, 2022.
The Big Sandy Community and Technical College Nominating Commission is responsible for submitting a list of qualified applicants to the Governor when a vacancy occurs on the college’s Board of Directors.
Ashley Sholar has been appointed as a member of the Hopkinsville Community College Nominating Commission.
- Ashley Sholar, of Crofton, is an entrepreneur. She will serve for a term expiring April 15, 2022.
The Hopkinsville Community College Nominating Commission is responsible for submitting a list of qualified applicants to the Governor when a vacancy occurs on the college’s Board of Directors.
Johnny L. Hobdy and Sandra Sue Appling have been appointed as members of the Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Nominating Commission.
- Johnny L. Hobdy, of Scottsville, is executive director of the Allen County-Scottsville Industrial Authority. He will serve for a term expiring April 15, 2023.
- Sandra Sue Appling, of Bowling Green, is retired. She will serve for a term expiring April 15, 2022.
The Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College Nominating Commission is responsible for submitting a list of qualified applicants to the Governor when a vacancy occurs on the Board of Directors.
Emily E. Skaggs and Jean A. Deters have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology.
- Dr. Emily E. Skaggs, of Lexington, is a licensed psychologist. She will represent licensed psychologists and serve for a term expiring March 19, 2023.
- Dr. Jean A. Deters, of Walton, is a licensed psychologist. She will represent licensed psychologists and serve for a term expiring May 19, 2023.
The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology administers and enforces the statutory authority and monitors the needs of the consuming public. The Board examines and licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of Psychology. It recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality.
Craig B. Hendricks has been appointed as a member of the Unemployment Insurance Commission.
- Craig B. Hendricks, of Florence, is a human resources executive. He will represent employers and serve for a term expiring Oct. 26, 2020.
The Unemployment Insurance Commission serves as an appeals board to hear and decide appeals filed in accordance with the provisions of KRS 341.430, and adopts regulations governing the manner of filing appeals and the conduct of hearings and appeals.
Morris E. Coffey has been appointed as a member of the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.
- Morris E. Coffey, of Vine Grove, is a funeral director and embalmer. He will represent the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky and serve for a term expiring May 31, 2023.
The State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors adopts standards and regulations which govern the funeral industry to assure public safety.
Lee Anthony Jordan has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Board of Barbering.
- Lee Anthony Jordan, of Henderson, is a barber. He will represent barbers and serve for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2022.
The Kentucky Board of Barbering conducts periodic inspections of barber shops and barber schools. It determines whether each individual and business has the required license, follows up on complaints regarding those individuals working without licenses and investigates other violations of the law and inspects premises of shops and schools to determine compliance with sanitary standards and physical requirements as established by the Board.
Judith Theriot has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Early Intervention System Interagency Coordinating Council.
- Dr. Judith Theriot, of Frankfort, is medical director of the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services. She will represent the Department for Medicaid Services and serve for a term expiring April 20, 2022.
The Kentucky Early Intervention System Interagency Coordinating Council advises the Cabinet for Health and Family Services on the development and implementation of the Kentucky Early Intervention System with the goal of maximizing the potential of infants and toddlers with developmental delays. The Council develops and implements a comprehensive statewide system and provides services as soon as it is possible to identify the problems.
