LEXINGTON, Ky. — Dr. Peter Blackburn, associate professor of ophthalmology and pediatrics in the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, has been presented with the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons’ (KAEPS) Ophthalmologist of the Year award.
The Ophthalmologist of the Year award is granted to a physician who has made outstanding contributions to KAEPS and made strides to significantly enhance the profession of ophthalmology.
Blackburn, an alumnus of the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine, specializes in retinal and vitreous diseases. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
The Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons is a statewide, nonprofit organization that promotes and advances both the science and art behind medicine and surgery to provide convenient, quality eye care to all citizens of Kentucky.
