Taz Trucking cuts ribbon on $10 million new facility in Bowling Green; creating 50 jobs

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Taz Trucking Inc. was joined Wednesday by officials from Warren County, the City of Bowling Green and the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the ribbon cutting for its new facility off Nashville Road. This $10 million project included the construction of a 50,000 s.f. facility and created 50 new jobs in Warren County.

Taz Trucking was co-founded in 2004 by Tahir Zukic and Amira Zukic. The Zukic’s, both originally from Bosnia, came to the United States in 2000. Tahir obtained his CDL and established his driving career with Nashville’s Western Express Trucking. By 2003, Tahir purchased his own truck, a red Volvo, and decided to branch out on his own.

Taz Trucking, now with 140 employees and over 100 trucks, is a $20 million a year operation.

“We are delighted to celebrate this achievement with the Bowling Green community and our employees and customers who have made this dream a possibility,” said Taz Trucking President Tahir Zukic. “This new facility will allow us to better serve our growing customer base through improved services and offerings and allow us room to expand as we further develop our business in the region. We look forward to being a bigger part of the growing transportation business in South Central Kentucky.”

“We are excited for Taz Trucking’s new facility and I congratulate them on this new chapter,” said Ron Bunch, president and CEO of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. “We look forward to supporting them on the continual growth of their operations in South Central Kentucky.”

In addition to the facility, Taz Trucking has invested approximately $1 million in machinery and equipment for their office and shop. This new facility will enable them to expand operations and increase the number of jobs they offer in South Central Kentucky, as well as allow them to purchase additional trucks for their fleet and create the positions they have available for CDL drivers.

“We are excited to celebrate the opening of Taz Trucking’s new facility in Warren County,” said Warren County judge-executive Mike Buchanon. “We look forward to seeing the growth of their business in South Central Kentucky.”

“We are so glad Taz Trucking decided to call Bowling Green home 15 years ago,” said Bowling Green Mayor Bruce Wilkerson. “Taz Trucking is a great example of what Bowling Green has to offer for those wanting to start and grow a business, we applaud them on their continued success.”
