PPC announces new communications director

FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Public Protection Cabinet (PPC) has announced the appointment of Krista Locke as executive director of the Office of Communications & Public Outreach. PPC Secretary K. Gail Russell announced the appointment, which is effective immediately.

“Krista’s communications experience is extensive, and her involvement with local government is an asset,” said PPC Secretary Gail Russell. “I appreciate her willingness to step away from her career in the private sector to serve the Commonwealth.”

Following years in corporate communications, Locke will oversee communications for the cabinet, manage communications staff, and aid the cabinet’s eight agencies in interacting with the press.

“I am honored to join the cabinet’s impressive team, and look forward to working closely with the cabinet’s dedicated professionals and members of the media to share information, including the endeavors and accomplishments of each agency. I thank Governor Bevin and Secretary Russell for the opportunity to serve the administration and the Commonwealth.”

Locke is a Lexington native and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Asbury University.
