Kentucky Venues names new assistant director of communications

Ian Cox

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Venues named a new assistant director of communications this week. Ian Cox has been promoted to this newly created position, which will help manage media relations and communications projects for both the Kentucky Exposition Center and Kentucky International Convention Center.

Cox previously served on the Kentucky Venue’s team as a senior communications manager and strategic marketing coordinator.

“Kentucky Venues is known for hosting and producing shows that bring millions of visitors to Kentucky every year. I am honored to be in this newly-created role. I look forward sharing the significance of our shows and facilities,” said Cox.

In his tenure at Kentucky Venues, Cox has led the complete redesign of the Kentucky State Fair, Kentucky Exposition Center and Kentucky International Convention websites. Additionally, he has worked on a variety of projects including refining the event planning guide, developing annual reports and digital video creation.

“Communications is an essential piece of our organization. Ian has shown a lot of initiative, stepping up and taking on new tasks willingly. His resourcefulness will help him define this new role within our organization,” said David S. Beck, president and CEO of Kentucky Venues.
