COVINGTON, FRANKFORT & BARDSTOWN, Ky. — As a fresh, new answer to the common question of where to stay when exploring Kentucky Bourbon Country, the tourism commissions of Northern Kentucky, Frankfort, and Bardstown today launch a new marketing initiative.
Under the banner Come Find Bourbon and the new website www.ComeFindBourbon.com, Covington, Frankfort, and Bardstown invite visitors to spend more time enjoying immersive bourbon experiences in all three destinations.
“We see CFB as a win/win—for us as marketing partners and, more importantly, for visitors,” said Julie Kirkpatrick, vice president sales and marketing for meetNKY. “We can send a clear message to bourbon lovers who in turn will discover that our three regions really do have it all in terms of Kentucky Bourbon Country experiences.”
“Bardstown, Frankfort, and Covington offer a full spectrum of genuine Kentucky Bourbon Country experiences,” said Mike Mangeot, executive director Bardstown-Nelson County Tourism Commission. “One clear benefit for tourists is the fact that all three destinations are near one another, so this trip is an easy drive route with short distances between stops.”
“Kentucky is the birthplace of ‘America’s Native Spirit’ and crafts 95% of all bourbon,” said Robin Antenucci, executive director Frankfort/Franklin County Tourist & Convention Commission. “Tourists made a record 1.4 million stops to Kentucky distilleries in 2018. Frankfort, Covington, and Bardstown offer easy access to 21 distilleries so are ideal destinations for bourbon lovers.”
All three cities offer a rich variety of bourbon culture that run the gamut from rustic to ultra-modern, mom-and-pop to conglomerate, historic to brand new:
- The Covington region offers easy access to five distilleries: Boone County Distilling Co., Neeley Family Distillery, The Old Pogue Distillery, New Riff Distilling, and Second Sight Spirits
- The Frankfort region offers easy access to seven distilleries: Buffalo Trace, Castle & Key, Four Roses, Glenn’s Creek Distillery, Three Boys Farm Distillery, Wild Turkey, and Woodford Reserve
- The Bardstown region offers easy access to nine distilleries: Bardstown Bourbon Company, Barton 1792, Heaven Hill, Lux Row, Preservation Distillery, and Willett, plus Jim Beam, Limestone Branch, and Maker’s Mark.
