Aviation Safety Resources opens new corporate office, manufacturing facility in Nicholasville

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — Aviation Safety Resources (ASR), an innovative company that designs, tests and produces emergency recovery systems for aircraft and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) vehicles, today announced the opening of a new facility in Nicholasville to accommodate rapid growth and future expansion.

Located at 141 Hendren Way, the 20,370 s.f. building will house the company’s corporate offices, manufacturing and testing, as well as its engineering, sales and customer support teams.

ASR’s expanding operations will create 12 new high-paying jobs this year and more than 40 full-time positions in the next three years.

Larry Williams, Aviation Safety Resources president and CEO, said an attractive business environment and proximity to the Lexington labor market were major factors in the company’s decision to relocate to Jessamine County.

“We are fortunate to find space that will accommodate our corporate offices, production and in-house testing, which will greatly increase the efficiency of our operations and reduce costs,” Williams said. “ We believe this location will allow us to provide exceptional value and superior service to our customers while we keep pace with the increasing demand for ASR’s life-saving recovery systems in established and emerging aviation markets.”

Unique features of the Nicholasville facility include a hard test stand for engineering and testing aircraft interfaces with ASR products, including the company’s newest Soteria family of products for light sport, ultralight and experimental aircraft. The facility also will serve as the needs of the Urban Air Mobility market for recovery systems for Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) vehicles.

Nicholasville Mayor Pete Sutherland said, “We are pleased to welcome Aviation Safety Resources to our corporate family. Nicholasville is developing into a prime destination for new technology and innovative engineering. Aviation Safety Resources is another fine example of the innovative change taking place in our county.’

The new facility is located within a designated Opportunity Zone, a new federal community investment program that connects private capital with undercapitalized communities across America and offers significant federal tax benefits for investors.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Aviation Safety Resources to create some 40 new jobs in Jessamine County,” said County Judge/Executive David  West. “ASR products are integral to the world’s developing transportation technology and I’m confident Jessamine County’s skilled workforce will meet the company’s high standards!”

Aviation Safety Resources will hold a ribbon-cutting and open house event at the Nicholasville facility from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019.
