Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Paul M. Sheets has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund Board.

• Dr. Paul M. Sheets, of River, is retired. He will represent The League of Kentucky Sportsmen and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2022.

The Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund Board administers the Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund and reviews and approves all grants payable from the fund.

William Larry Adams and Henry Michael Ivey have been appointed as members of the Reclamation Guaranty Fund Commission.

• William Larry Adams, of Frankfort, is retired. He will represent persons with a background in insurance and banking industries with knowledge of the coal industry and serve for a term expiring July 1, 2023; and
• Henry Michael Ivey, of Hazard, is a vice president with Locust Grove, Inc. He will represent permittees that participate in the fund and has mined and sold less than one million tons of coal and serve for a term expiring July 1, 2023.

The Reclamation Guaranty Fund Commission reviews, recommends and promulgates administrative regulations, authorizes expenditures from the fund and performs all other necessary functions to carry out the provisions of the law.

Allison Michelle Cummins-Caruso has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Licensing Board for Specialists in Hearing Instruments.

• Allison Michelle Cummins-Caruso, of Corbin, is a hearing instrument specialist. She will represent specialists in hearing instruments and serve for a term expiring July 31, 2023.

The Kentucky Licensing Board for Specialists in Hearing Instruments regulates and controls the licensing, conduct and operation of hearing instruments within the Commonwealth.

Beth Nicole McNulty has been appointed as a member of the Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

• Dr. Beth Nicole McNulty, of Lexington, is an otolaryngologist-neurotologist. She will represent otolaryngologists and serve for a term expiring March 6, 2022.

The Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology regulates the licensing for speech and language pathologists and audiologists and ensures that licensed practitioners perform according to the board’s codes of conduct.

Jeannine Bell Smith, Calvin Michael Music, Alyssa Dara McDowell and Benjamin Joseph Taylor have been appointed as members of the Consumers’ Advisory Council.

• Jeannine Bell Smith, of Crescent Springs, is retired. She will serve for a term expiring Sep. 8, 2020; and
• Calvin Michael Music, of Hagerhill, is a teacher and a deputy sheriff. He will serve for a term expiring Sep. 8, 2020; and
• Alyssa Dara McDowell, of Covington, is a business owner. She will serve for a term expiring Sep. 8, 2020; and
• Benjamin Joseph Taylor, of Lexington, is an executive assistant. He will serve for a term expiring Sep. 8, 2021.

The Consumers’ Advisory Council acts as an advisory to consumers on consumer affairs in Kentucky and publishes an annual report on the state of consumer affairs within the Commonwealth.

Gary D. Lewis Jr., Charles E. Dills II, Joseph William Monroe, Buford H. Hurley II and Paul William See have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee.

• Gary D. Lewis Jr., of Louisville, is a chief of police. He will represent the Council on Postsecondary Education and serve for a term expiring July 22, 2021; and
• Charles E. Dills II, of Williamstown, is a county judge/executive. He will represent the Kentucky Association of Counties and serve for a term expiring July 22, 2021; and
• Joseph William Monroe, of Georgetown, is a chief of police. He will represent the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police and serve for a term expiring July 22, 2021; and
• Buford H. Hurley II, of Flatwoods, is a public safety director. He will represent the Kentucky Chapter of the National Emergency Number Association/Association of Public Safety Communication Officials and serve for a term expiring July 22, 2021; and
• Paul William See, of Melbourne, is a project manager. He will represent the Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs and serve for a term expiring July 22, 2021.

The Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee addresses communications interoperability and makes recommendations regarding strategic wireless initiatives to achieve public safety.

Rebecca Thomas has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Child Care Advisory Council.

• Rebecca Thomas, of LaGrange, is a director of child development. She will represent child-care center providers and serve for a term expiring June 24, 2021.

The Kentucky Child Care Advisory Council gives opportunities to child care providers and advocates to advise the Cabinet on matters that affect the operations, funding, licensing and certification of child care. The Council also advises the Cabinet on developing and promoting methods to improve child care services throughout the state.

Phillip J. Moffett has been appointed as a member of the Kentucky Housing Corporation Board of Directors.

• Phillip J. Moffett, of Louisville, is a real estate broker. He will represent the interests of real estate practitioners and serve for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2021.

The Kentucky Housing Corporation Board of Directors works with the Kentucky Housing Corporation to provide affordable housing opportunities.

Amie Jo Hacker has been appointed as a member of the Housing, Buildings and Construction Advisory Committee.

• Amie Jo Hacker, of London, is a salesperson. She will represent mobile home installers and serve for a term expiring Nov. 30, 2020.

The Housing, Buildings and Construction Advisory Committee assists the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction with regulatory and enforcement ideas that oversee the housing, building and construction industries.

Isaiah Stovall Jr. and Vincent Rivera have been appointed as members of the Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission.

• Isaiah Stovall Jr., of Lexington, is a business owner. He will serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2021; and
• Vincent Rivera, of Lexington, is an associate minister. He will serve for a term expiring Dec. 12, 2021.

The Martin Luther King Jr. State Commission promotes the principles of racial equality and nonviolent social change espoused by Martin Luther King Jr.
