DMLO CPAs names new directors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — DMLO CPAs has announced that Sarah Antle, CPA, and Melinda “Mindy” Heck, CPA, will become directors, effective Oct. 1.

“We are excited to welcome Mindy and Sarah to our director group,” says Chris Ward, president of DMLO CPAs. “They have embraced the core values that make our firm unique in our market, and bring a fresh energy and outlook to our leadership team, as we continually aspire to improve the lives of our clients, employees and those in our community.”

Heck joined the firm in 2000 and is a leader in the not-for-profit and employee benefit plan niches. She specializes in audits of defined contribution plans, HUD-assisted entities and not-for-profit organizations. She also serves on the firm’s audit and accounting committee.

Heck earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a master of science degree in sports administration from the University of Kentucky. Professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KyCPA). She is chair of the KyCPA Employee Benefits Committee and a graduate of the KyCPA 2014 Leadership Academy. She was honored in 2012 by Business First as one of the Forty Under 40.

She is a regular presenter for the Center for Nonprofit Excellence and LeadingAge Kentucky on topics including internal control, Uniform Guidance audits, and employee benefit plans. Mindy serves as Treasurer on the Board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana.

Antle joined the firm in 2006 and is a rising leader in the firm’s long-term care niche. She has extensive experience in providing audit services for not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans, as well as for-profit entities in various industries. She also chairs the firm’s recruiting committee.

Antle earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Bellarmine University. She is a certified fraud examiner, a credential awarded by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) exclusively to those who have met the ACFE’s character, experience and education requirements.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and the Kentucky Chapter of the ACFE. Sarah serves on the Board and Finance Committee for Community Coordinated Child Care.
