GLI connecting local manufacturers with free services during pandemic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Greater Louisville Inc.’s (GLI) Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Network is partnering with Advantage Kentucky Alliance (AKA) to ensure manufacturing businesses in the Greater Louisville region can access no-cost services for operational support as they battle COVID-19.

AKA is a statewide, nonprofit partnership of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership in Kentucky that is supported by the U.S. Department of Commerce. AKA is committed to providing assistance and training to manufacturers throughout Kentucky to help them improve and grow.

“The Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Network continues to support sustainable industry growth through knowledge-sharing and collaboration, networking, and advocacy. This partnership with Advantage Kentucky Alliance will support our ongoing efforts by providing companies impacted by COVID-19 with direct access to AKA to leverage a variety of no-cost service supports. AKA is providing no-cost services funded by the CARES Act assistance program including:

• COVID-19 Re-Opening Audit

• Health & Safety Gap Analysis

• Maintenance Assessment

• Operational Assessment

• Financial Score Card

• Supply Chain Risk Assessment

• Supplier Sourcing

• Showcase Video

“Advantage Kentucky Alliance is excited to be partnering with GLI and AML in continuing to keep the Greater Louisville region a diverse and thriving market in the manufacturing sector. AKA will perform 70 supplier searches, 80 total assessments, 40 manufacturing showcases, and 18 webinars/seminars leveraging CARES Act funding. These actions will be completed by the end of the year to expedite Kentucky’s emergence from the pandemic.

GLI is also hosting a free virtual event Aug. 18 to empower local businesses with information on how to access and leverage a variety of no-cost services aimed at alleviating COVID-19 impacts within the manufacturing and logistics industry.
