Humane Society trying to make a small dent in $300,000 lost revenue

Enter Lucky Dog Raffle for $5 for a chance to win $1,000

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington Humane Society needs the community’s help to offset more than $300,000 lost in 2020 event revenue due to COVID-19.

“With a decline in donations and suspension of in-person events, we are estimating a loss of about $300,000 this year. Summer months are particularly difficult for us as it is kitten season and the numbers of animals in our care is higher than other times of the year,” said Ashley Hammond, LHS director of fundraising. “Fundraisers like our Lucky Dog Raffle, sponsored by MetroNet, help bring in funds to assist us in caring for homeless but hopeful animals in and around our community.”

Enter now for a chance win big during the LHS Lucky Dog Raffle, sponsored by MetroNet. Tickets are only $5 and all proceeds benefit the animals. The prizes are $1,000 and possibly three free months of MetroNet’s fiber-optic internet.

Online registration ends at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. A random drawing will be held at noon on Sept. 25.
