JCPS offers additional communication tool for families, schools

School CNXT will allow direct, 2-way communication, translate messages into multiple languages

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) will offer an additional communication tool this year for families to stay connected to their child’s school and teachers. The new app, School CNXT, provides for two-way communication and allows families to engage directly with school staff. The app also helps remove language barriers by translating messages into multiple languages.

“We are always looking to enhance communication with families, and there has probably been no year more important than this one to make sure we are connecting with parents and students on a regular basis,” JCPS Superintendent Dr. Marty Pollio said. “Our goal is to make it easier for families to immediately and confidently access information from their child’s school and create an opportunity for two-way conversation without language or literacy barriers.”

Beginning Monday, families will start receiving emails from School CNXT, inviting them to log on and create a free account.

With the app, schools will be able to reach registered families or any subset of families with pertinent news and events that are translated in the languages and formats parents and guardians prefer. In addition, families with multiple children at multiple schools will have communication streamlined within a single app.
