ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — Hardin Memorial Health Foundation (HMHF) announced Friday it received a $90,000 grant from the WHAS Crusade for Children, bringing total Crusade donations to more than $1 million since 2002. Over $786,000 of that investment has come to HMHF in the last five years. Local firefighters and countless fundraisers raise money in Central Kentucky every year and the WHAS Crusade for Children certainly returns it to help local children.
“Our longstanding relationship with the WHAS Crusade for Children directly improves the lives and wellbeing of countless children,” said HMHF Chairman Joe Prather. “I feel sure nearly every child presenting to HMH for care, benefits from equipment or resources funded by the Crusade.”
The $90,000 grant will allow HMH to purchase pediatric equipment for Hardin Memorial Health’s (HMH) emergency department and for new equipment for its Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The HMH Emergency Department team cares for more than 1,100 babies and children from across the region each month. Due to this high pediatric volume, the Emergency Department needs special equipment and resources to provide the best and most comfortable care.
WHAS Crusade for Children President and CEO Dawn Lee also touted the longtime partnership.
“We have hit an impressive milestone – more than $1 million in grants – thanks to the generous WHAS Crusade donors in Central Kentucky,” Lee said. “The donors should be proud of the lasting impact their contributions have made on regional families. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the HMH Foundation for years to come.”
