LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Salvation Army Early Learning Center (ELC) has named Nicole Love as the new director.

Love previously oversaw child-care programming for 70 children at the Salvation Army’s College for Officer Training in New York. She also spent three years with Fayette County Public Schools as a family resource center coordinator and then a child guidance specialist.

Love graduated from Asbury College with a double major in psychology and Spanish. She also has a master of arts degree in education from the University of the Cumberlands.

“My vision for the ELC is to provide a place where children and parents are consistently going to receive respect and high quality care at an affordable cost,” Love said. “Quality, dependable child care is difficult to find, specifically for families struggling financially. I am confident the ELC can meet that critical basic need for our community. I want our center and staff to break the stereotype that affordable childcare is ‘lesser’ childcare.”

The Salvation Army Early Learning Center provides quality learning opportunities to children ages six weeks to five years.
