UK Lewis Honors College acting dean announced

Laura Bryan

LEXINGTON, Ky. — University of Kentucky Provost David W. Blackwell announced recently that Laura Bryan, currently the T.G. Lewis Faculty Scholar in Organizational Behavior, will serve as acting dean of the Lewis Honors College, effective Sept. 11, 2020.

The announcement follows Dean Christian Brady’s appointment as interim dean of the UK College of Arts and Sciences.

Bryan brings to the role more than 20 years of academic leadership, most recently in the position of vice president for academic affairs and dean of Transylvania University. Before that, she served as dean of the Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Baltimore, among other leadership roles through her more than 30-year academic career.

Bryan will serve until the search for the new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences concludes. At that time, Brady will return to the Lewis Honors College as dean.

“I greatly appreciate Dr. Bryan’s willingness to serve,” Blackwell said. “We look forward to her continued contributions to the Lewis Honors College and the University of Kentucky.”
