LEXINGTON, Ky. — FASTSIGNS® of Lexington celebrated 30 years in business this year. Franchisee Conda Marcum was originally from Lexington, and her husband and fellow franchisee, Don Marcum, was a former professional race car driver.
During their time in the racing world, they would order all of their sponsor decals from out of town. As a result, they could see that Lexington had a need for what a FASTSIGNS center could provide. Over the past three decades, the business has experienced a myriad of changes over some historic milestones including the Gulf War, 9/11, the recession, and now a pandemic.
This center is truly a locally-owned and family-run business. With five family members in-house, they work closely as a team and attribute much of their business success to selecting great employees. When asked about what advice he might offer to other business owners, Don shared the importance of having a good business plan but being open to change.
