AGC Automotive Americas has laid off 140 employees at its plant in Elizabethtown, where it produces auto glass for more than a dozen auto manufacturers. The layoff is the second major layoff at the plant since November and leaves the facility operating with approximately 350 employees.
Citing “continued deterioration in economic activity” both domestically and abroad, heavy equipment manufacturer Altec Industries has laid off 50 employees at its Elizabethtown manufacturing plant. The Elizabethtown plant employs 325 workers who produce components for bucket trucks used in the utility and telecommunications industries.
