EOP, Group 4 selected to design new Village Branch of Lexington Public Library

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Lexington Public Library has selected EOP Architects and Group 4 Architecture to design the new Village Branch Library, to be located at the existing site at 2185 Versailles Road, which the Library purchased late last year.  The plans call for a new facility with two stories and roughly 30,000 s.f., replacing the current building which includes just 13,000 s.f.

EOP and Group 4 previously partnered to develop the Library’s master facilities plan in 2018, intended to guide the Library’s future growth and service plans.  During the planning process, LPL received input from more than 2,400 stakeholders, over 95% of whom supported a reimagining and expansion of the Village Branch as the first step in Lexington Public Library’s future needs.

EOP and Group 4 were selected, in part, because of their extensive plans to engage the public to determine what Cardinal Valley residents, Lexington’s international community, and the greater Lexington community want and need in the newest Library facility. Community engagement will likely begin in early summer.
