Truitt Bros. Opens Food Plant, Creating 125 New Jobs

By wmadministrator

Truitt Bros. has opened a new food processing plant in the former Gordon Food Service distribution facility in East Bernstadt, which has been remodeled to accommodate the Oregon-based company’s burgeoning special products business.

Truitt Bros.’ special products segment includes prepared meals in shelf-stable packaging, produced for clients such as ConAgra, Nestle, Del Monte and Healthy Choice.

“The location in southern Kentucky is ideal, and we’re proud to be a part of the London business community,” said David Truitt.  “The new plant will allow us to accommodate the growth and demand we’re experiencing in the prepared meals segment, and to establish a state-of-the-art production and shipping facility much closer to our growing roster of customers located in the eastern United States.”

Truitt Bros. is currently operating the new facility with a staff of 125 and hopes to eventually employ around 400 people.
