Saul Good to open in downtown Lexington at Victorian Square

Restaurant will open in October, be open 7 days a week

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 29, 2013) – Saul Good Restaurant & Pub plans to open a restaurant in downtown Lexington, at the corner of Broadway and Short Street in Victorian Square.

“We are happy to be opening in downtown. Downtown Lexington is vibrant and we are thrilled to be part of the rebirth of Victorian Square,” said Rob Perez, owner of Saul Good Restaurant & Pub.

“We’re hoping Saul Good will be the first of many announcements, as we continue to develop the Rupp District,” said Mayor Jim Gray.

The restaurant’s “from scratch” kitchen serves up farm fresh salads, warm sandwiches, gourmet burgers, hand tossed pizzas and features a signature chocolate bar. One of its specialties is chicken and waffles.

Saul Good is the first of an eclectic mix of retail and restaurants that will transform Victorian Square “into a major destination for the state of Kentucky,” said Mark Fallon, vice president of real estate for Jeffrey R. Anderson Real Estate of Cincinnati, co-owners of Victorian Square with The Webb Companies of Lexington. “Serving as a magnet for our guests not only from the region but also from far away, the Square is excited to be a piece of the bigger puzzle being put together to make downtown Lexington a world-class destination. You can expect a number of new to the Lexington market tenants being announced throughout the summer.”

The owners plan to re-invent Victorian Square with a mix of existing tenants as well as new national and locally-owned restaurants and entertainment facilities.

“Our goal is to make this block a place to see and be seen, whether you live within 50 miles of Lexington or are traveling to visit one of the Lexington area’s great attractions,” Fallon said last year when the project began. “Victorian Square redeveloped and leased correctly will serve to be a traffic generator that will help to get visitors to the area, want to stay in Lexington an extra day or two, as well as provide a central meeting and social gathering place for residents of the entire Kentucky Bluegrass Region.”

The downtown Saul Good Restaurant & Pub location will be a 4,500-s.f. restaurant with seating for 145 people, a private dining area and a full service bar. The restaurant, scheduled to open in October, will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
