LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A new partnership between Bellarmine University and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System will make it easier and more affordable for students from KCTCS campuses to pursue higher degrees at Bellarmine.
This program has been collaboratively designed to ensure that students can start their academic journey at KCTCS and seamlessly transfer credits to Bellarmine to earn their bachelor’s degree, as well as options for a graduate degree.
Specifically, the partnership includes:
- Transfer plans and advising guides that offer straightforward degree paths in many disciplines.
- All eligible KCTCS students, faculty and staff will receive discounted tuition rates to advance their education at Bellarmine.
- KCTCS students can apply for additional resources including various scholarships, free summer course enrollment and on-campus housing grants.
- Active members of the military and veterans are eligible for additional reductions in tuition rates through Bellarmine’s participation in the federal Yellow Ribbon program.
- Thanks to a partnership with Norton Healthcare, students pursuing health care careers in select majors may be eligible for significant scholarship funding if they commit to working at Norton Healthcare upon graduation.
The partnership underscores Bellarmine’s commitment to making sure a BU degree is a possibility and reality for every student in Kentucky.
“This partnership demonstrates that we have made great strides in offering incoming transfer students a clear pathway, an affordable education and a transformative student experience,” said Dr. Susan M. Donovan, Bellarmine’s president. “We are grateful to KCTCS for their wonderful preparation, guidance and attention to ensure a smooth transition to Bellarmine. We look forward to welcoming these students and further collaborating with KCTCS to ensure that higher education is accessible and affordable to students of all backgrounds.”
Bellarmine and KCTCS officials expect the partnership to grow as the institutions work together in expanding educational access and achievement for students and the state.
The partnership represents an expansion of the successful partnership Bellarmine unveiled last year with Jefferson Community and Technical College, known as the “2BU program.”
“We are appreciative of the expansion of this partnership with Bellarmine,” said KCTCS President Paul Czarapata. “This agreement enhances our students’ opportunities by providing another direct avenue to earning a bachelor’s degree.”
