Appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Appointed Faith Kemper and Connie Smith as members of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.

  • Faith Kemper of Fort Wright is retired. She replaces Kristi Nelson, who has resigned and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2024.
  • Connie Smith of Bowling Green is president and CEO of Med Center Health. She replaces Ronald Beal, who has resigned and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2024.

Appointed John Dougherty, Mike Law, and Randall Weddle as members of the Kentucky Transportation Center Advisory Board.

  • John Dougherty of Louisville is CEO of Louisville Paving and Construction Co. He replaces Kellie Baker, who had resigned and whose term subsequently expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 9, 2024.
  • Mike Law of Bowling Green is Vice President of Materials at Scotty’s Contracting & Stone. He replaces Christopher Cusick, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 9, 2024.
  • Randall Weddle of London is co-founder of WB Transport. He replaces Joseph McClung, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 9, 2024.

Reappointed Joe Cowan, Amy Dougherty, Brenda Noble, Grace Jeter, and Heather Hornsby as members of the Statewide Independent Living Council.

  • Joe Cowan of Monticello is an instructional specialist at the Kentucky Community and Technical Colleges System and shall serve for a term expiring May 20, 2025.
  • Amy Dougherty of Lexington is an attorney at Bluegrass Elderlaw PLLC and shall serve for a term expiring May 20, 2025.
  • Brenda Noble of Lost Creek is the associate director of disABILITY Resource Center and shall serve for a term expiring May 20, 2025.
  • Grace Jeter of Lexington is a paralegal at Bluegrass Elderlaw PLLC and shall serve for a term expiring May 20, 2025.
  • Heather Hornsby of Independence is an advocate for the disabled and shall serve for a term expiring May 20, 2025.

Appointed Jacob Cruz and Matt Lowry as members of the Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities.

  • Jacob Cruz of Lexington is a custodian at St. Peters Church. He replaces David DeSanctis, who has resigned and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 16, 2022.
  • Matt Lowry of Bardstown is a psychometrist at Child & Adolescent Psychological Evaluations LLC. He replaces Erin Tiemeier, who has resigned and shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 16, 2023.

Appointed Laken Albrink as a member of the Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners.

  • Laken Albrink of Morehead is an assistant professor of legal studies at Morehead State University. She replaces Harold Corder, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 2, 2026.

Appointed the following as members of the Kentucky State Board on Electric Generation and Siting.

  • Robert Sims of Munfordville, representing residents of Hart County.
  • Nathaniel Comer of Henderson, representing residents of Henderson County.
