MyKY.info Kiosks at BCTC serve those in need

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is pleased to announce its partnership with Family Scholar House and the installation of two new MyKY.info Kiosks, which will serve BCTC students, faculty and staff who need free community resources.

Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) transforms the Bluegrass Region – one student, one employer and one community at a time.  BCTC is a member of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

The MyKY.Info Kiosks will be located in the Student Lounge of the Classroom Building at the Newtown Campus and the M Building of the Leestown Campus. These kiosks will serve BCTC students, faculty and staff who need free community resources such as basic needs like food and housing assistance. Resources also include medical services and experts for education, support and financial or legal help. The kiosks also provide access to Kentucky’s crisis lines and safe places. The MyKY.info web-app is also offered in Spanish and will soon offer French for English Language Learners.

“These kiosks are important because they provide our students with community resources they may need to succeed in college,” says Dr. Karen Mayo, Associate Vice President for Academics and Workforce Development at BCTC. “We’re constantly looking for ways to ensure our students have everything they need for success.”

A ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the installation of these kiosks will take place later this year. For more information, please contact Dr. Karen Mayo at [email protected].
