Amazon.com, Inc. is in the processing adding 400 full-time jobs at its Lexington fulfillment center to help support growing customer demand.

The Seattle-based company is hiring for a variety of jobs in Lexington, ranging from managerial positions to hourly jobs in the warehousing, maintenance and receiving/shipping areas, among others. Hourly positions pay up to $12 per hour and include medical benefits, paid time off and Amazon.com stock grants.

The company is also hiring temporary employees to help staff the center during the holiday season, but the 400 recently announced jobs are permanent positions, said company officials.

Amazon opened the Lexington fulfillment center in 2000 and currently employs approximately 950 people there. The company also operates four other Kentucky fulfillment centers, with two facilities in Hebron and one each in Louisville and Campbellsville.
