American Medical Depot, a Florida-based distributor of medical and surgical supplies, has announced plans to open a regional headquarters facility in Millington, Tenn., near Memphis.
The first phase of the company’s $12.5 million project will include the construction of a 120,000-square-foot warehouse/office complex that is scheduled to be complete by next summer. Another 100,000-square-foot warehouse is slated to be built within two years. The project is expected to create 210 new jobs within three years.
American Medical Depot President Akhil Agrawal said the proximity of Federal Express and UPS distribution hubs at Memphis International Airport played a major role in the company’s decision to select Millington for its regional headquarters site.
