MedAssist Holding Inc., a Louisville company that provides revenue management services for the health care industry, has been acquired by Firstsource Solutions for $330 million.

Mumbai-based Firstsource is among India’s leading business process outsourcing (BPO) companies, providing business process management services to global leaders in banking and financial services, telecommunications and media and health care.

“The health care space in the U.S. is a tremendously attractive market from a BPO perspective,” said Firstsource Managing Director and CEO Ananda Mukerji.
“Firstsource already has a significant presence in the payor side of the market. This acquisition gives us access to the equally large provider side. MedAssist has an attractive portfolio of service offerings, an excellent customer base and a strong management team. We see significant opportunity to grow our business in the segment by cross-selling Firstsource’s services to MedAssist’s customers.”

MedAssist, which was founded in 1989, now employs approximately 1,400 people nationwide. Firstsource does not plan to make any changes in the management and said all employees would continue in their present jobs.
