Award-winning festival celebrates its 10th year in Magical Midway, Ky.

Francisco’s Farm, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, will take place on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and June 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 18, 2012) — The Lexington Art League (LAL) has released the call to artists for the 2013 Francisco’s Farm Arts Festival, a weekend showcase of fine art and craft, live music, artist demonstrations, delicious food, locally-made wine, and family activities set in the rolling hills of Equus Run Vineyards.

Francisco’s Farm, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is presented in partnership by LAL, Midway Renaissance, Inc., and Equus Run Vineyards. The 2013 event will take place on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and June 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Francisco’s Farm Arts Festival has become a signature arts event for our region and beyond,” said Stephanie Harris, LAL’s executive director. “It has been named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society and a Top 10 Art Fair & Festival by American Style Magazine. Last year we saw record attendance, and we fully expect this landmark year to be one of the best yet.”

Approximately 100 artists across a dozen categories will be accepted into Francisco’s Farm. Any fine artist or craftsperson is invited to apply by submitting materials through ZAPPlication™, an online application service that makes the process simple and efficient. The application fee is $25, and the deadline to apply is Jan. 31, 2013. Accepted artists will be notified in early March.

Artists who earn a spot at Francisco’s Farm and secure a booth assignment will be considered for cash prizes in their category. Prizes will be awarded during an artists’ reception at the festival.

“LAL understands the effort artists make to participate in these types of events, and we do our best to make the application process and festival experience easy and enjoyable,” said Becky Alley, LAL’s exhibitions and programs director. “We encourage all artists who’d like to sell their original work to apply to Francisco’s Farm, and we look forward to connecting them to our region’s art lovers this summer.”
