Nonprofit health provider operates more than 200 locations in Kentucky, Indiana
FRANKFORT Ky. (Jan. 31, 2013) — KentuckyOne Health plans to locate its headquarters in Louisville, adding 10 new, full-time jobs and investing $5.5 million in the project.
“KentuckyOne Health is committed to helping improve the health and well-being of every Kentuckian, and today’s announcement furthers this goal,” said Gov. Steve Beshear.
KentuckyOne Health is an integrated comprehensive health system, a single organization with many facilities, services and providers. It includes hospitals, clinics, specialty institutions, home health agencies, satellite primary care centers and physician groups with more than 200 locations combined and a medical staff of 3,600 physicians across the state.
“Downtown Louisville is the right choice for our headquarters for a number of reasons, including the proximity to several of our Louisville facilities; easy access to other areas in the commonwealth; convenient access to the Louisville International Airport and a location in the largest city in the commonwealth,” said Ruth W. Brinkley, president and CEO of KentuckyOne Health. “In addition, the Jewish Hospital Medical Plaza is already one of our owned assets, which made it a financially viable option. The alignment of our recently announced partnership with the University of Louisville Hospital James Graham Brown Cancer Center is another reason why this is the right decision.”
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $240,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
